Have you ever been walking outside and it began to rain and it did not look like it would keep raining so you keep walking then all of a sudden it begins to pour down rain and you were not ready for that? You get soaking wet!
Isn’t that how life is sometimes? We are just walking along doing our thing then BAM, something happens and you have to fix your car and then BAM, your kids have something going on then BAM, you and your spouse are arguing. One thing after another. You thought everything was going good, and then you thought it was just the car then one thing after another and you get soaking wet!
When we get soaking wet, our clothes become heavy and it is a little more difficult to move, sometimes our shoes become slippery and before we know we are using all our effort to move as quickly as we can through the downpour into a dry, comfortable place.
Isn’t that how we are in life? When one things happen to us, we become weighed down, focused on trying to get back to that place of ease and comfort.
Jesus tells us in John,
“I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace. In the world you have tribulation and distress and suffering, but be courageous [be confident, be undaunted, be filled with joy]; I have overcome the world.” [My conquest is accomplished, My victory abiding.]”
John 16:33 AMP
Jesus is telling us it is going to pour, we may get soaking wet but guess what….He has overcome and has the victory and because of Him who lives in us we do too!
Things are going to break, arguments are going to happen but we are in relationship with the One who will help us through every step of the way with peace and victory.
Hold tight to Jesus! He will give us what we need to walk through every trial!
