Good News

Good news is such an overrated term that we use today. I mean anything can be good news right? It depends on our circumstances. If I tell you I have good news because I just inherited 10 million dollars you might say, “Good for you!” However if I tell you that I have decided to give you half of it well then that would be good news for you!

Not all good news is universally good for everyone, but the best Good News is for everyone!

The bible tells us in Romans 10:13 NLT - “ Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” This verse includes EVERYONE!

The writer of Romans asks four questions after making this amazing statement about the Good News:

  1. How can they call on Him to save them unless they believe in Him (Jesus).

  2. How can they believe in Him if they have never heard about Him?

  3. How can they hear about Him unless someone tells them?

  4. How will anyone go and tell them without being sent?

If the sent ones go and proclaim, they can hear, those who hear can believe, if they believe and call on the Name of the Lord they will be saved!

If you are a disciple of Jesus Christ then you are a “sent one” called to proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ.

Jesus meant for the good news to be shared because the good news of Jesus is for everyone. The gospel of Jesus doesn’t discriminate. The good news isn’t xenophobic or sexist. For God so loved the WORLD…… not your race, your sex, your ethnicity or gender. No one is to be excluded from hearing the good news of Jesus.

It doesn’t cost anything to share the gospel with those around you! Imagine if every Christian in the entire world would share the good news with someone they know this week.

In the United States alone that would mean 205 million people would hear the gospel of Jesus in seven short days.

If only half of US Christians shared the good news with one person this week that would mean 102.5 million hurting people would hear about the love of the Savior and have the opportunity to call on His name for salvation.

If only 10 percent of US Christians would share this good news, that there is a God who gave His only Son to pay the sin debt that everyone owes then 20.5 million people would have the opportunity to encounter Jesus.

If only 1 percent of US Christians shared the good news that there is hope, forgiveness, and freedom from through the sacrifice of Jesus then 2 million and 50 thousand people would have an opportunity to call upon the name of the Lord and be saved in just one week!

How will they call on Him unless they believe?

How will they believe unless they hear?

How will they hear unless someone tells them?

Will you share the good news with someone who needs to call on the name of the Lord and be saved this week?

Who knows, If you share the good news, they just might hear and believe, if they hear and believe they might call on the name of the Lord and be saved!

Will you be a sent one?

Remember, the Gospel is only good news if it gets there in time!
