Are you a Do-gooder?

Galatians 6:10 (NKJV): Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.

These words were written in the first century by the apostle Paul to the church in Galatia. However they are just as true and powerful today.

One of the definitions for opportunity is: an indefinite period of time.

We know when an opportunity arises but we don’t know when it will be over.

I love to think about the opportunities that you and I will have today. We will have opportunities to be angry, to fight and quarrel, to be selfish and many other negative things. On the contrary we will also have many opportunities to do good!

What is the meaning of good and how do we do good?

One definition of good is: generous

Let me urge you to do good while you can today. You will have opportunities today that may last for seconds, minutes, or less where you can do good or be generous in the life of someone else with your time, talent, or treasure.

Notice in the above scripture that we are to do good to all!

That means people who look like you and people who don’t. All simply means all. The good, the bad, and the ugly.

Jesus went about doing good (Acts 10:38)and His followers will do the same. You and I have the command and privilege to do good to all just as our Lord did and continues to do.

Don’t miss your opportunity to be a do-gooder today!
