A Time to Remember

2020 has been a year that no one saw coming! We were all expecting a year of “Perfect Vision” but what we received was something completely different. It has been a time of global pandemic, economic collapse, isolation, and loneliness to name a few. It has been a year most of us would like to forget as we near the beginning of a New Year. I would like to challenge you with a passage of scripture to not forget but to remember:

Psalm 78:1–7 (NKJV)

1Give ear, O my people, to my law; Incline your ears to the words of my mouth.

2I will open my mouth in a parable; I will utter dark sayings of old,

3Which we have heard and known, And our fathers have told us.

4We will not hide them from their children, Telling to the generation to come the praises of the Lord, And His strength and His wonderful works that He has done.

5For He established a testimony in Jacob, And appointed a law in Israel, Which He commanded our fathers, That they should make them known to their children;

6That the generation to come might know them, The children who would be born, That they may arise and declare them to their children,

7That they may set their hope in God, And not forget the works of God, But keep His commandments;

The children of Israel went through some very difficult times in their journey on this earth. However, they taught their children and the future generations about the wonderful works that God had done for them. They taught each successive generation to hope in God alone. One of the things this year has taught us as Believers is that our hope must be in God! Many started the beginning of this year with our hope in our finances, our strong nation, our family, our job only to see these things come crashing down around us. If 2020 has taught us anything it is that God alone is unshakeable. I love verses 6 and 7 of this passage. With all the negative things this year has brought that we would like to forget, I would like to challenge you not to forget what God has done for you and your family! Let’s start 2021 remembering what God has done for us and making sure our hope is set on Him and Him alone for 2021!

Until the nets are full,
