We have all been in need at some point in our lives. Maybe you needed a friend. Maybe you needed some one to talk to. Maybe you needed help financially. It can be very devastating to be in need and have no one willing to help you. Yesterday I was going into a gas station to get a drink for my wife and I when a man approached me who was in need of a few dollars for gas. He began to tell me his story and I could tell he had asked others for help but hadn’t found anyone who was willing to help him. I don’t give strangers with sad stories money but I felt like I should help him get some gas. So I went to his truck and pumped some gas for him. He thanked me for being willing to help. I shared the gospel with him and told him I was helping because God has helped me. I encouraged him to read his bible and find a good church so that the next time he was in need he would be surrounded by brothers and sisters who would be willing to help him and he could do the same for them. I know what some of you are thinking. He probably lied to me and got some free gas. You may be right and if he did he will have to answer to God one day for his deception. However God is willing to help in our time of need and I choose to follow the example of Jesus who was willing to give His life for the glory of God and the salvation of all who would repent and put their faith in Him.
There are no words more beautiful to a person in need that is asking for help than, “I am willing”.

(Mark 1:40-42)
40Now a leper came to Him, imploring Him, kneeling down to Him and saying to Him, “If You are willing, You can make me clean.” 41Then Jesus, moved with compassion, stretched out His hand and touched him, and said to him, “I am willing; be cleansed.”
42 As soon as He had spoken, immediately the leprosy left him, and he was cleansed.
This leper was in a terrible place in life. he was separated from his family and friends because of his disease. He was an outcast. He was lonely and without hope because no one was willing to help him. In his desperation he came to Jesus and knelt before Him and begged for help.
These verses tell us Jesus moved with compassion, stretched out his hand and touched him and said “I am willing, be cleansed!"
Jesus was willing to get involved in this man’s problem! Jesus is willing to get involved in your situation today. Even if you have asked others and they were not willing don’t lose heart. Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever. If you will come to Him, and ask Him, He will be willing to get involved in your situation today! If you need help call on Jesus who is kind and compassionate and mighty to save. He is able and willing to deliver you if you call on Him today!
If you are in a good place right now look around you and see who you might be able to help and follow Jesus by being willing to get involved and point others to Him!
